The Ottobrunn Production Centre has been a centre of competence for over 40 years in the field of high precision manufacturing of rocket engines, thrust chambers, propellant valves and propulsion system components. The centre employs a vast array of specialist disciplines for the production of each rocket engine and thrust chamber, including small component manufacture, large component manufacture, materials technologies, surface technologies, destructive testing, non-destructive testing, robot welding, hand welding, electron beam welding, electroforming, pulse plating, dewaxing, cleaning techniques, rapid prototyping, materials and components inspection, mechanical inspection, nickel sulphamate electroforming,- to name just a few disciplines. The Ottobrunn Production Centre uses state of art robot, automated and CNC manufacturing techniques. Production is just a part of our persistent drive to assure the highest possible quality and consistency of our liquid propellant rocket engines and combustion chambers. For example, since 1996, we have been able to manufacture two combustion chambers in parallel at the same time. The recent introduction of high-performance cutting has allowed components for space applications to be processed ten times faster than today - and to the cost benefit of our customers.
